The Dangers of Certain Weight Loss Methods, and a belly fat hunger dietThe Dangers of Certain Weight Loss Methods

How determined are you to lose weight? You can find plenty of helpful information and maybe you already have a diet plan in mind. Losing weight by sticking to a diet and working out can be tough, so it comes as no surprise to find that people resort to even dangerous ways of losing weight. More often than not, women are using these dangerous methods because they feel pressured into being thin by society. It is more frequent for women to utilize these risky weight loss drugs because they believe they are not at a weight that is attractive. Losing weight should be about health and not just about looking skinny. Read on to find out more about how unsafe these methods actually are.

Is it all in your head?

The most typical of the drastic diet plans is anorexia- not eating much food at all, resulting in your energy levels dropping. Some people decide to stop eating breakfast while others skip lunch, and many decide to skip meals altogether. Even though the digestive system and ability to sleep or reason begins to break down, the pathology of the sufferer is the real illness. A warped perception of the body may be a sign that someone has Body Dysmorphic Disorder, a mental disorder that affects how one sees oneself.

 The metabolism and weight loss

Your body is wise, however, and it can adapt to the abuse of starvation. As less and less food is ingested your body thinks that it will starve. This is a result of thrifty genes inherited from our ancestors in times of famine as a means to adapt to going long periods without food. Your metabolism slows down drastically to preserve strength, meaning you will burn off less fat throughout the day. This kind of see-saw habit makes it even harder for people to start eating normally, again as the metabolism will continue to operate slowly.  You will quickly put on fat as you won't burn calories quickly enough due to a weakened metabolism.

Bulimia causes long-term damage

Bulimia is another dangerous weight loss method. Those who follow this method ingest large amounts of food and then regurgitate the food so that the calories do not remain in their body. They are typically compulsive binge-eater and see food as an addiction. They feel guilt after binging on large amounts of  junk food and so they throw it back up. You won't be able to tell if an individual has bulimia as their body weight doesn’t always fluctuate as much as an anorexic person’s does. Regular vomiting is tough on your body. Your heart and other vital body parts can be badly affected. Stomach ulcers may develop because of the regular vomiting of food. Your esophagus will undoubtedly be harmed by the stomach acid and your teeth will lose their enamel and begin to decay. The acid can also cause burn the lining on your throat and esophagus not to mention permanent damage to stomach lining.

Many people have the incorrect idea that all weight loss is the same. However, losing bone and muscle mass is terrible for your body and your looks. You will lose more weight by observing a regimen of sleep, diet and exercise. Wouldn't you rather eat food, be healthy and still be able to reach your ideal weight? The other thing many people do not seem to understand is how badly rapid weight loss ages a person. A gaunt face and bones protruding makes you look much older than you really are. Wrinkles stand out more, the hair begins to thin and the body becomes open to disease.

Weight loss made simple

Some suggestions I have for you is to start choosing nutrient dense superfoods foods like chia seeds or flax seed to snack on every day. They offer weight loss benefits and boost muscle mass at the same time to lose weight safely. Sprinkle them in your soups, salads and over any food that you eat for added benefits. The most effective approach is to eat modest amounts of healthy foods. This means smaller  portions and cutting back on rich foods. It is really possible to really slim down without trying unsafe methods!
